打破第四道墙

在传统剧场中,观众是被动的,坐着接受表演者传达的讯息。在Forum Theatre里,观众与表演者的第四道墙被打破,观众可以上台参与表演,干涉剧情。

 

我们都很清楚,人生是一场戏,我们都是生命舞台上的戏子。但是人生是单程的,一路到底,不能让人尝遍每一条分岔路。所以有的人选择当演员,过多重“人生”。但我们有了Forum theatre,可任观众突破舞台的第四道墙而上台解决剧中人的问题—— 没有剧本,没有台词,就照你的方式去应付剧情。

 

现实中可能发生但你不曾遇见过的难题,在舞台上出现。你跑上舞台,身边的演员很专业,以自己角色会做出的反应配合你。你没有舞台经验和训练,但没关系,大家看的是你如何解决问题。也许你能够成功解决困难,也许你的办法会让剧情更糟糕。而最大的好处是,无论你能不能够解决问题,你都能够在facilitator 的“cut!”回到现实,不像现实生活,没有NG 的余地。

 

抑或者,你看着戏,看到那难题,忽然发现你就在生命中遇到过这么样的一个困境。你是过来人,你那时搞砸了。但现在你知道怎么做,你看着观众苦苦思索,你走上台,用你的方式解决问题。大家都明白了,你心里也很平静了。你在台上过了第二重人生,现在你至少做过了,弥补了,也同时教育了大家。

 

我对Forum theatre 的理解仍然很肤浅,但我看到了它的潜质,它的作用。当我站在台上跟随剧中角色浮沉时,它让我能够在当下反思,也在回家后的几天里都在反思。在没有预设的台词和指示下,什么叫“戏如人生”变得清晰无比。我很感动,而这份感动非但不莫名,反而清楚得很。假以时日,当我能够对Forum theatre 有更深的理解,便和大家分享。

  1. A few groups in HK have these kind of “experiential” plays organized at shopping mall, or at non-main stream theatre halls. Once, I spent about 30-40 minutes watching those players acting or may be just not, and then, some pedestrians passed by and accidentally became part of the play as well. I didn’t have much to share here, but as you said, there could be many forms and lives happened there on the stage, off the stage. If, only, we could have that opportunity to experience.

    if u ever have the chance to take part in such play, do try it. it is a really good experience!
